Stele of Irynefer, an artisan who
worked for the royal tombs, and of his family. Under the arch, from
left to right: Anubis, Osiris, Amenhotep I and his mother
Ahmose-Nefertari. Amenhotep I (d. 1504 BC) supposedly founded the
artisan community for the royal tombs (now Deir al-Madinah), who
