Location: southwestern Ecuador, northwestern Peru
Size: , body length up to 78 centimetres, up to 4.2 kilograms
Life Span: unknown however fox life span is generally beteen 10 and 12 years
Current Status: threatened by habitat loss
Habitat: Desert and grassland
Fast facts:
--- nocturnal spending the daylight hours in a den dug into
the ground
--- eats insects, rodents, bird eggs, carrion, fruit and
seeds
This fox was at Chaparri,
in western Peru. The fox was very bold, living closely
associated with the Lodge in the community-owened
reserve(text and photo by Mike Weedon).
