Location: Arctic Ocean and subarctic seas in the Northern Hemisphere

Size: lengths of  3 to 4 metres, weight 1700kgs

Life Span:  up to 30 years

Current Status: not endangered

Habitat:  shallow waters

Fast facts:
---they can dive up to 80 metres deep
---diet: sea cucumbers, shrimp, tube worms, soft corals, crabs, tunicates  and mollusks
---They were hunted for their ivory tusks, blubber and meat
