Size: lengths of  up to 15 cm and weigh up to 110 gms

Life Span:  up to 2 years

Current Status: not endangered

Habitat: tundra

Fast facts:
---they do not hibernate in winter but continue to seek the food they stored in summer
---they do not kill themselves in mass drownings
---diet consists of grass and moss
---they produce a system of tunnels in the summer months
