Tsunami 


Meaning: a tsunami is a huge wall of water that races across the surface of the ocean. As the wave approaches land it increases in size destroying everything in it path as it crashes onto coastal land. The tsunami is normally caused by an underwater earthquake, landslide or volcanic eruption.

  • heights can reach up to 40m

  • when the volcano erupted on Krakatua (1883) it created a tsunami of more than 40m
